The entire Design Dentistry team aims to provide all of our patients with the best possible dental care in a comfortable and relaxing environment. Everyday, our friendly staff strive to provide professional results.
Dr. Asif Sawani (DDS)
Dr. Sawani has been a member of the College of Dental Surgeon of Alberta and Alberta dental Association since acquiring his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 2014.
After graduation, Dr. Sawani joined Design Dentistry to provide the very best comprehensive dental care to all of his patients while continuing to build a strong doctor/patient relationship. He enjoys practicing all aspects of dentistry, whether to improve aesthetics, reclaim function or provide relief from pain to all ages. He is committed to continuing education with special interest in oral surgery and endodontics.
Dr. Sawani started practicing as an associate, then owner, and now partner with Dr. Khan to rejuvenate Design Dentistry with a contemporary ambience and bring in state of the art technology to provide the very best to our patients and the community.
Apart from dentistry, Dr. Sawani loves to spend time with his wife and daughter. During his leisure time, he likes to read, travel, watch the Oilers and volunteer in the community.
Fun fact: There is no food that Dr Sawani thinks could be improved by the addition of ketchup.
Dr Khan grew up in Toronto but graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2018 from the University of Alberta. Following a collaborative associateship, she joined Dr Sawani in private partnership in 2022 with a single focus and practice philosophy; create a staff culture of a united family whose goal it is to provide comprehensive and compassionate dental care for all patients.Â
While experienced in all aspects of general dentistry, Dr Khan’s passion is welcoming and developing relationships with her youngest patients. She has a remarkable gift of being able to communicate and gain the trust of children thus allowing her to successfully treat their needs. As a Gold Plus Invisalign provider, she delivers timely orthodontic intervention for growing children but believes it is never too late to correct bite issues that exacerbate decay and probable early tooth loss, across all patients.
When away from the clinic, Dr Khan loves to travel with her husband and two children, exploring exotic cultures and cuisine. She recalls fondly, completing her exchange program in Dresden, Germany. She is an avid reader, Instagram contributor and community volunteer, in her free time.
Dr Khan is fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi with an understanding of Punjabi. She is a member of the Alberta Dental Association, the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta and the American Academy of Clear Aligners.
Fun fact: Dr Khan is very well versed in all things superhero and princess related and ensures the toy chest is well stocked to reward her brave patients. Â
Dr. Maryla Mollania (DMD)
Dr. Mollania was born and raised in northern Iran. Her desire to help ensure people had beautiful smiles led her to the highly competitive Tehran University School of Dentistry, where she received her degree. She practiced general dentistry in Iran for several years before relocating to France. Five years later, she and her husband immigrated to Canada where she graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, in 2015.Â
While Dr Mollania is proficient in all aspects of general dentistry, she enjoys working with anxious patients helping put them at ease with her caring nature. Her dental interests include oral surgery, endodontics and implants. She is a proponent of continuing education having taken instruction in advanced oral surgery techniques. Â
Dr Mollania is a welcome addition to the Design Dentistry team. Her practice philosophy aligns compatibly with that of Drs. Sawani and Khan. Both dentists confidently refer their patients to her care ensuring timely dental treatment. Dr Mollania is available Monday, Friday and alternate Saturdays and welcomes all new patients.Â
When away from the clinic, Dr Mollania loves spending time with her 2 wonderful boys, who keep her very busy whether cruising the Mediterranean or camping in our Canadian wilderness. In her spare time, she enjoys hot yoga, Zumba and walking. Dr Mollania is always on the go. Â
Dr Mollania is a general dentist and a member in good standing of the Alberta Dental Association and the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta. Besides English, she speaks Farsi, French and rudimentary Arabic.
Fun fact: Dr Mollania is an accomplished dancer with a preference for Salsa and Persian dancing.Â
Dr. Yasir Raza
(DDS)
Dr. Yasir Raza is a dedicated general dentist who began his dental journey in Pakistan graduating from Liaquat University Jamshoro in 2008. Following graduation, he was selected for a three-year residency program in Endodontics. After completing his residency training and examinations, he was awarded a FCPS – Fellowship in Operative Dentistry and Endodontics in 2015, recognizing his advanced expertise in restorative dentistry and root canal therapy.
Dr. Raza spent 7+ years in private practice, Driven by a commitment to professional growth and excellence, Dr. Raza relocated to Canada to continue his dental career. He gained valuable experience within the Canadian healthcare system,  before being accepted into the prestigious Advanced Placement Program at the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. Dr. Raza graduated from University of Alberta with DDS in June2026. He has successfully completed both the Canadian and United States National Dental Board Examinations and is licensed to practice general dentistry in Alberta. He prefers to stay in Edmonton “calling it home “ and loves to serve the Albertans.
Dr. Raza is particularly skilled in managing dental emergencies and is widely recognized for his expertise in root canal therapy, helping even the most anxious patients feel comfortable and at ease. Dr. Raza has a special interest in pediatric dentistry and is especially passionate about caring for children. His philosophy of care emphasizes education, prevention, and shared decision-making, empowering patients and families to make informed choices about their oral health.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Raza enjoys exploring new restaurants, spending quality time with his family, and creating cherished memories with his wife and their two sons.
Tyler Dudley
(DD)
Tyler started with Design Dentistry as an associate denturist in 2017. He graduated in 2011 with a diploma in Denture Technology from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. The year following graduation Tyler opened his own practice which he continues to maintain on a full- time basis.
Tyler has an engaging, easy -going disposition that encourages his denture patients to feel comfortable and well attended. Working in such close proximity with our dentists allows for the best collaboration when assessing and fulfilling a patient’s needs. He is experienced in assessment, design, fabrication and delivery of partial, complete and implant retained dentures, as well as repairs and adding teeth to an existing denture. He enjoys interacting with patients and particularly loves seeing their reaction when a solution is found to their years of denture frustration. Tyler does not shy away from managing a patient’s expectations even if it means having difficult conversations. Positive outcomes reflect his commitment to this mindset.
When not working, Tyler loves spending time with his wife and four children. As an avid sportsman, he pursues athletic pastimes whenever possible. He has the most fun when coaching his children in soccer or basketball because its individual time he gets to spend with them.
Tyler is a member in good standing of the College of Alberta Denturists and the Denturist Association of Alberta.
Fun fact: Tyler once got a hole in one while golfing with a broken hand, unbeknownst at the time.
Beth Gibbons
Office Manager
Beth holds a BSc in Biology and worked as a laboratory technician before transitioning to dental administration in 2022. She is passionate about creating an organized, welcoming environment where patients receive exceptional care. Beth enjoys improving processes, supporting the team, and helping the practice run smoothly each day.
Fun fact: Originally from the UK, Beth moved to Canada in 2018. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking from scratch and volunteers as a board member with the local rugby community.
